Exercise the Franchise -- Dump Bush!
The upcoming November 2004 election really is frightening. I don't remember any other time in my adult life when I’ve been actually afraid of what the people in the White House are planning to do.
I’m not a politically active person by nature. I’ve tilted my share of windmills in my day and supported many just causes, particularly in the late 60’s and during the Vietnam War, and I am glad I supported the effort that finally got our military out of that ill-advised war but, like many people, I became disillusioned by our government and military leaders long ago. I no longer respect them as people or leaders, with very few notable exceptions, and I now generally consider politics a waste of time.
I’ve also lost faith in the media, a formerly respectable occupation. I no longer believe you can understand the truth or reality of the current events in Washington by watching the network evening news. I understand how public opinion can be manipulated and how the power of the presidency takes advantage of the media’s apparent disinterest in investigative reporting. I despair at the ease at which sound bite campaigns and such propaganda techniques as The Big Lie are employed to manipulate the attitudes of an unaware public.
But these times require action. We are in a situation where many people don't plan to exercise their vote in November. Some are just unaware of the situation, others despair so deeply over the corruption in the capitol that they don't want to participate. Others don't feel Kerry would make a good president. The point is, anybody will be better than giving Bush another four years in office. (LINK) He must be removed.
This nation is in a crisis. George Bush and his administration have failed at every turn of his presidency and it’s not just a matter of poor judgment. The people behind Bush have a hidden agenda (LINK - PNAC), which they plan to implement if he is elected to a second term. Bush is merely a puppet, a front man for the back-room boys who are wielding the real power.
Bush’s main role in the White House is to lead the re-election campaign, raise the funds needed to accomplish this goal and act as the front man for the organization. Cheney is generally considered to be in charge of the real decisions.
The Regime picked GW as their candidate in the quest for power for a couple of reasons.
1. Bush is an affable, sort of goofy, but likeable fellow. He attracted most of his votes in the 2000 election for that reason alone. He had no real record to run on. He won by calling his opponent 'boring.'
It is apparently no longer necessary to have brains or experience in order to be elected president. The Republicans first proved that when they put Ronald Reagan in the White House. Americans are now so shallow that they vote on the basis of the candidate’s appearance more than they do on his qualifications.
2. Bush is truly uninformed and extremely unlikely to actually oppose any of the plans these people propose. He doesn’t go so far as to read the daily papers to form a personal opinion on current events. He merely attends cabinet meetings and makes his “decisions” according to the recommendations of the members of his organization. He's at their mercy and even if he really tried to do something for the good of the country and its people he lacks the ability.
George W. Bush has failed at every turn of his presidency and needs to be removed from office. He has consistently proven himself to be incompetent in the position of president. He has risked countless lives and untold billions of taxpayers dollars on an ill-planned, misdirected plan to combat terrorism by attacking Iraq.
Every bill he pushes through Congress seems to have an ulterior motive: the tax bill only benefited the rich; the Medicare Bill benefits the insurance industry instead of retired people; the Energy bill is a scam to eliminate environmental restrictions so Bush’s cronies in the energy and oil industry can reap larger profits. He has declared war on the environment .
The disastrous war in Iraq has destroyed America’s foreign relations and has alienated much of the world, including most of our closest allies. Bush took the worldwide sympathy for Americans caused by the 9-11 terrorist attacks and turned it into global hatred. Instead of solving the terrorist threat he poured kerosene on the fire.
It is imperative, at a time when people seem intimidated by The Regime and are hesitant to speak out against the president and his actions, that we all become politically active. Ideas must be discussed. People must be made to question the actions of the Bush administration and realize what a danger they pose for America. The media must support this effort by truly examining the issues of the day and providing the people with the truth. Anything less than this is mere participation in the political agenda of the White House.
This is not a normal situation for American politics. We, as Americans, want to trust our president and other elected officials. But, the record speaks for itself. These people are not only misdirected, they are obstinate, arrogant, vindictive and refuse to accept blame for their failures while they have failed at every turn. They have repeatedly lied and deliberately deceived the American people in order to implement their hidden agenda.
They need to be removed from power for the good of this country. The November 2004 election offers Americans the opportunity to take back this country. We must take advantage of our right to vote and remove Bush and Co. from office.
Failure could mean the demise of America
